1. What we collect

When you use Gem Identifier, we collect:

Photos you upload for gemstone identification
Account info (email, username) if you sign in with Google
Anonymous analytics about how the app is used
Basic device info for core functionality

2. How we use it

To identify and classify the gemstone in your photo
To improve our AI gemology model over time
To keep the service running and secure
To communicate with you about your account when you ask us to

3. AI processing

To generate a Gem Report, Gem Identifier sends your photo — and any notes you add — to third-party AI platforms for analysis. These platforms currently include Google and OpenAI. By using the identification feature, you agree to share that data with these providers so your request can be processed. Google and OpenAI each handle that data under their own privacy policies; we recommend reading them.

4. Storage & security

Your data is stored on Google Firebase and Google Cloud infrastructure. We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, and we scope access tightly.

5. What we share

We don’t sell your personal data. Identifications you mark as Public may appear in the Discover gallery so other collectors can browse them — you control visibility per identification in the app.
