Terms of Service
Last updated: 4/21/2026
1. Agreement
By using Gem Identifier — the app, the website, or both — you agree to these Terms of Service. If any of it doesn’t sit right with you, please don’t use the service.
2. What Gem Identifier does
Gem Identifier is an AI-powered gemstone identification tool. It analyzes your photos and returns a report covering species, variety, likely origin, likely treatments, rarity, market value range, care guidance, and historical context. It is educational and informational — it is not a gemological laboratory.
3. How to use it
- Give accurate info when you set up an account.
- Don’t upload illegal, inappropriate, or unrelated content.
- Don’t abuse the service, scrape it, or attempt to circumvent limits.
- Respect others’ intellectual property.
4. Disclaimer — please actually read this
Identification results are AI-generated opinions, not lab reports. Species, origin, treatment detection, and value estimates can be wrong — image-based AI is fooled regularly by look-alikes and hidden treatments. For any stone you intend to buy, sell, or insure, get a certified lab report (GIA, AGL, SSEF, Gubelin, GRS). Don’t rely on Gem Identifier alone for financial decisions.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos you upload. By uploading, you grant us a license to process them for the purpose of identifying the gem and improving our AI. Our app, model, and infrastructure remain ours.
6. Limits of liability
Gem Identifier is provided "as is" without warranties. We’re not liable for losses that come from relying on identifications or value estimates.
7. Changes
We’ll update these terms when we need to. Continued use after an update means you accept the new version.
